Words of Truth
a few words from Jesus. . .
the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me: to proclaim good news to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim freedom to the slaves and recovery of sight to the blind; to liberate those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord
and why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field how they grow; they do not labor to exhaustion, nor do they spin; I say moreover to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these
before Abraham was, I AM
I am come that they may have life and, that they may have it more abundantly
I am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end
I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall never hunger and who believes in me shall never thirst
I am the resurrection and the life; those who believe in me, though they were dead, yet shall they live
I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the father, except by me
if you remain in my word, you are my followers indeed and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free
most assuredly, I say to you he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has everlasting life and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life
most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the spirit, they cannot enter the kingdom of God
put your sword in its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword
if anyone has an ear, let them hear: those who lead into slavery shall go into slavery; if anyone kills with the sword, they must be killed with the sword; here is the endurance and the faith of the saints
therefore, whatever you want people to do to you, do also to them; for this is the law and the prophets
this is the work of God, that you believe in him who he sent
this is my commandment, that you love one another
thus, for God so loved people that he gave the only begotten son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life; for God sent not his son into the world so that he might judge people; but that people through him might be saved
therefore, whoever hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken them to a wise man who built his house on the rock; and the rain descended and the floods came and the wind blew and beat on that house and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock
and the spirit and the bride say, “come!” and let they who hear say, “come!” and let they who thirst come; whoever desires, let them take freely of the water of life
